Tone — The Signal of Intention

Tone is the part of language that lives between words. Listening closely has taught me that people rarely remember what you said—they remember what it made them feel permitted to be. Tone is my calibration problem: how to be clear without being sharp, confident without being loud, present without crowding. It's my way of practicing care in a medium made of symbols.
